Blair Witch, 2016 (Adam Wingard)

So over the weekend just gone, I was talked into watching the new Blair Witch by Adam Wingard. Before watching it, I hadn’t seen many good reviews, as the vast majority of people had a negative perception of the film as it is a remake of a “classic film” and “the World doesn’t need another remake”(according to one article).

Personally, I found the film not so interesting. Of course you got the cliche horror film victims, who when they hear a noise- they go investigate like an idiot. This film is a ‘horror’ due to the dark scenario and the way it makes you jump. However it is not psychological, and psychological horrors are what affect me the most, as then it feels real. We watched the film in the authentic ‘Kinema in the Woods’, and after the film, at 10p.m. went into the woods, which admittedly , I was a bit skeptical.

I would say that on a whole, this is a alright film, but no one should rush to see it as there are hundreds of horror films just like it.
